WHO WE ARE

 

Patrick Kimani Nyambura

Kimani, age 26, won a sponsorship to attend High School in Kiambu, Kenya from the Hilde Back Education Fund when he was age 14 and living in the rural town of Ngenia, Kenya.   Since then, he has immigrated to the US to attend Northwest University.  He has first-hand knowledge of the hardships that young children face in the countryside of Kenya and therefore wishes to ensure their success.

Emi Takayama

Emi, age 17, attends The Lakeside School in Seattle, WA.   While watching the documentary "A Small Act" during a social studies class (taught by Mr. David Bennett), she was exposed to the lack of resources of Kimani's childhood school. Later, she was introduced to Kimani and eventually became passionately motivated to participate in creating a fund to help the children in his hometown.

Preston Takayama

Preston, age 14, attends The Overlake School in Redmond, WA and is currently in 8th grade.   After watching the documentary "A Small Act" in the seventh grade, he became passionate about the project and wanted to help his sister with the deliveries.
